Shoegaze Festival

Automatic Noise Festival lands in Berlin for its first edition in the city after six editions in Amsterdam. The international shoegaze festival will take place on September 19th, 2026, at Mikropol, Berlin, featuring Mahogany (USA), Resplandor (Netherlands), Attic Ocean (Germany), and Part Garden (Netherlands).

A night of walls of sound, distortion, ethereal vocals, and beautiful noise.

Mahogany (USA)

Mahogany dovetails elements of post-punk, shoegaze, disco and classical into futuristic, architectural, symphonic compositions. Duo Andrew Prinz and Jaclyn Slimm combine vocals, twin 12-string guitars, massive bass, densely sequenced rhythms, and a variety of synthesizers and samplers for an immersive effect known as the „Hypercube.“

The Mahogany discography already comprises two critically acclaimed full-length albums, The Dream of the Modern Day and Connectivity!, as well as numerous singles, EPs and compilation tracks collected on the double-disc Memory Column.

Production, design, and remixes for artists including Ulrich Schnauss, The Veldt, and Lovesliescrushing aside, more recent Mahogany work includes an expansive 8-minute composition, “Phase Break,” and the limited deluxe vinyl single “A Scaffold,” hailed by Brooklyn Vegan as “a real zoomer with atmospheric vapor trails wrapping around its ethereal melody.”

Performing live with artists like Anika, Jonathan Bree, Vampire Weekend, Spoon, Bloc Party, Interpol, Luna, and Broadcast, Mahogany has garnered reviews and features in Pitchfork, The Wire, The New York Times, NME, The Guardian, ZOO Magazine, and more.

Resplandor (Netherlands)

Resplandor is a Netherlands-based shoegaze band whose sound blends ethereal, lush guitars and heavenly, soaring vocals with elements of post-punk and post-rock. Their recent albums Tristeza and Pleamar were produced by Robin Guthrie (Cocteau Twins) and mastered by Simon Scott (Slowdive).

The band has built a reputation for immersive live performances and a strong international presence, sharing stages with acts such as The Cure, Slowdive, and The Jesus and Mary Chain. Resplandor performed Tristeza as the opening act for The Cure’s Shows of a Lost World tour in South America, touring extensively across Europe, South America, and North America over the years.

A year ago, Resplandor began their European Tristeza Tour with sold-out shows in Amsterdam, Paris, and Berlin, followed by appearances across Europe and a standout performance at Wave-Gotik-Treffen, closing the year in Malmö and Copenhagen. In 2026, Resplandor has announced headline dates in London, Berlin, Amsterdam, and Zurich, with more dates to be announced.

Attic Ocean (Germany)

Attic Ocean is a shoegaze band from Düsseldorf known for their shimmering guitars, atmospheric soundscapes, and the enchanting voice of their singer Hanni. The five-piece group combines nostalgic influences from the ’90s with modern dream-pop elements.

Their second EP, Retriever (2024), mastered by Simon Scott (Slowdive), underlines their reputation as “Germany’s dreamiest band.” In spring 2025, they accompanied shoegaze pioneers Ride as a support act on their German dates.

With a music video filmed in Tokyo, the song “Lilies And Sea” reached 250,000 views on YouTube within a short time. The video for “Glow” transports viewers to the alleys of Paris and emphasizes the band’s international orientation.

Part Garden (Netherlands)

Part Garden is a shoegaze/dream-pop band where melancholic guitars and dreamy vocal lines put the listener in a trance. With their music, you’ll be taken on a journey through thought-provoking lyrics, flashing lights, and mellow sounds. Embrace the power of emotion and get lost in a garden of sound.
